Zoom Shakespeare Presents World Premiere Adaptation of Cyrano De Bergerac

Step into a fairytale world for a story of love redemption, and swordplay! Houston-based Zoom Shakespeare Productions (in collaboration with Apprentice Productions Theater Company) presents a new adaptation of Edmond Ronstadt's romantic epic play Cyrano De Bergerac, live on stage August 2 through August 11 at Jones Hall on the University of St. Thomas campus at 3910 Yoakum Blvd., Houston 77006.

The play tells the story of Cyrano, the renowned swordsman, musician, gifted poet, and playwright with one small problem: his large nose. He also harbors an unspoken love for his childhood friend, Roxane. When Roxane meets Christian, an attractive but not poetically gifted cadet in Cyrano's regiment, Cyrano and Christian hatch a plan to combine forces and woo Roxane together, with one's words and the other's beauty.

The production's script and direction are by Rebecca Bernstein, with fight choreography by Seth Ramsey, costume design by Mandy Mershon, intimacy choreography by Andrew Roblyer, with lighting and sound design by University of St. Thomas students Isa Lozano and Angel Garcia.

The show starts each night at 7:30pm Thursday-Saturday and 3pm on Sunday. Tickets cost $25 each at https://zoomshakespeareproductions.thundertix.com/events/231985.
